He is an active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America and has been recognized for excellence in publications on a number of occasions including a "Third in the Nation" finish for his 2011-12 men's ice hockey media guide and a "Ninth in the Nation" finish for his 2005 BSU Volleyball Media Guide. at the 2003 NCAA Division II Women’s Frozen Four, the 2011, 20 Men's Frozen Four, and men's ice hockey regional in 20. Folkestad has spent 16 years of professional career at BSU. As Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Marketing, he oversees all publicity, marketing and media relations operations for BSU’s 15-sport athletics department, and directly handles communications for the university's soccer and men's ice hockey teams.Įntering his 17th year in the athletic media relations field, Folkestad was promoted to Associate Athletics Director from Director of Athletic Media Relations, a position he held for 10 years, in the spring of 2017. Brad Folkestad is in his 14th year in the Office of Athletic Media Relations at Bemidji State.
